Anonymous Voting System with Cryptographic Verification
Description
ABSTRACT
This paper presents an Anonymous Voting System with Cryptographic Verification that enables voters to cast ballots anonymously while allowing the integrity of votes to be publicly verified without revealing voter identities. The proposed system leverages public–private key cryptography to authenticate eligible voters, hash chaining to preserve vote immutability, and blind signature concepts to decouple voter identity from ballot content. Each vote is cryptographically sealed and appended to a verifiable ledger, ensuring resistance against vote tampering, duplication, and unauthorized modification. The system supports post election verification, allowing stakeholders to confirm that all recorded votes are valid and unaltered while preserving un linkability between voters and ballots. Security analysis demonstrates that the design achieves confidentiality, integrity, anonymity, and non repudiation under realistic threat models. This approach highlights the ethical balance between transparency and privacy and demonstrates how cryptographic techniques can be applied to build trustworthy and scalable electronic voting infrastructures.applied to build trustworthy and scalable The integrity of democratic processes depends heavily on the trustworthiness, transparency, and confidentiality of voting systems. With the rapid digitization of civic infrastructure, electronic voting has emerged as a potential solution to challenges such as scalability, accessibility, and efficiency in elections. However, conventional electronic voting systems often struggle to balance voter anonymity with verifiable election outcomes, raising concerns regarding privacy breaches, vote manipulation, and lack of public trust. Cryptographic techniques have increasingly been explored to address these concerns by providing secure, anonymous, and auditable voting mechanisms
Key words: Anonymous voting, cryptography, blind signatures, hash chaining, vote integrity, structured, accessible, and trust-based electronic voting systems .
