Abstract:
This paper proposes a radical socio-economic reinterpretation of large-scale geoglyphs (Nazca, Peru; Turgai, Kazakhstan; Qinghai, China). Moving away from ritual-astronomical hypotheses, the author introduces the "Industrial Drying and Sorting Model." The study argues that these sites functioned as open-air logistics hubs for the mass dehydration (curing) of meat and biological resources, essential for the survival and mobility of nomadic and semi-nomadic populations.

1. The "Open Warehouse" vs. "Closed Thermos" Logic:
While megalithic structures like Stonehenge functioned as climate-controlled "thermos-warehouses" for finished goods, geoglyphs served the primary processing stage. Loading raw biomass into closed stone structures leads to decomposition. In contrast, geoglyphs provided the necessary solar exposure and airflow for rapid dehydration, transforming heavy raw meat into lightweight, storable concentrates.
2. Functional Zonation of Geoglyphs:
The iconic figures are interpreted as visual inventory markers for a pre-literate administrative system:
Avian Figures (Condor, Hummingbird): Sectors for processing poultry and high-value feathers.
Mammalian Figures (Monkey, Dog): Zones for large-scale meat production (livestock).

3. Trans-Eurasian Technology Transfer:
The presence of similar geoglyphic structures in Qinghai (China), Turgai (Kazakhstan), and the Kofun markers (Japan) suggests a unified administrative standard. Kazakhstan, as a transit hub, adopted and adapted Chinese state-accounting technologies for managing vast nomadic assets. The Nazca lines represent the culmination of this "ledger-on-the-ground" technology in a desert environment.
