Sporophila caerulescens hellmayri Wolters

Sporophila caerulescens hellmayri Wolters, Orn.Monatsb., 47, p.152,1939(Baía, Brazil). New name for ornata (Lichtenstein) (Verz. Doubl. Berliner Mus., p. 26, 1823) preoc.

Specimens examined.— BRAZIL and " SOUTH AMERICA ": 5 ♂, exact locality unspecified.

Measurements.— ♂♂ wing 56-57.5 mm.,tail 43-48 mm., culmen 8-8.5 mm.

Range.—Known only from the State of Baía. Theonly definite locality is Corupéba near the city of Baía (see Pinto, Compt. Rend., XII Congr. Int. Zool., Lisbon, 1937)..
