Description
FAIRsharing (https://fairsharing.org/) is a curated, informative and educational resource on data and metadata standards, inter-related to databases and data policies, across all disciplines. It guides consumers to discover, select and use these resources with confidence, producers to make their resource more discoverable, more widely adopted and cited, and powers third party tools by providing trustworthy content to promote standards and databases.
This webinar (video: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18336945) provides an overview of FAIRsharing’s role as a community-driven, manually curated registry of standards, databases, and policies, and highlights key developments over the past year alongside priorities for the year ahead. It describes sustained growth of our registry, increased disciplinary diversity, and major curation efforts to support both human and machine use. Curation highlighted this year includes enhanced digital object typing, improved identifier schema characterisation, and large-scale enrichment of relationships across records. The webinar also illustrates how our content is being operationalised through integrations with data management planning tools, FAIR assessment and assistance frameworks, and institutional and EOSC infrastructures, while outlining early, carefully-scoped work on AI related resources and AI-ready content. We provide a special focus on the central role of the FAIRsharing community, sustainability, and collaboration in supporting FAIR-enabling practices across research domains.
