Interactive session 2A innovation in practice

This page summarizes Session 2A, a workshop held during AIS2025. In this session, attended by around 35 participants from across the asphalt sector, the topics of innovative mixtures and recycling were discussed in a brainstorming session aimed at identifying key challenges and future opportunities. The session began with engaging presentations on the status and challenges of each topic in both Flanders and the Netherlands. These set the stage for roundtable discussions focusing on three key questions: Which innovations are needed to make recycling better and more efficient in the future? Do current specifications and standards limit the use of recycled or innovative materials? What adjustments are needed, and how can the associated risks be practically managed? How do you envision the asphalt sector in 2050?
