Women's Empowerment through Constitutional Instrument in Its Implacable Way in India

Abstract

Women’s empowerment is both a constitutional mandate and a moral necessity in India. The Indian Constitution, drafted with a visionary commitment to equality and justice, stands as a monumental instrument for the transformation of women's social, political, and economic status. Despite centuries of marginalization and systemic gender bias, the Constitution provides a robust framework that ensures women’s rights to equality, dignity, and participation. This paper critically analyzes the constitutional provisions, judicial interpretations, and legislative measures that have contributed to the empowerment of women in India. It also examines the practical challenges that hinder full realization of gender justice and suggests pathways for strengthening the constitutional mandate through institutional, educational, and social reforms.
