30 m resolution monthly burned area products for sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) from 2017 to 2025 (MBA-SSA1725)

This dataset provides monthly burned area (BA) products for Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) covering the period from July 2017 to July 2025.

It consists of two main components:

1. Binary BA maps (30 m):
   • 5° × 5° tiles in binary format (0 = non-burned, 1 = burned).
   • Provided as single-band GeoTIFF tiles for each month (multiple tiles per month).
2. Gridded burned fraction (0.25°; added in 2026-01-09 update):
   
   • Monthly burned fraction for each 0.25° × 0.25° grid cell across SSA, aggregated from the 30 m binary maps.
   • Provided as single-band GeoTIFF files (one per month), with values ranging from 0.0 to 1.0 (unitless fraction).
