Introduction to the NADA ecosystem
Description
This presentation introduces the NADA ecosystem, an open-source suite of tools designed for managing and disseminating research data metadata compliant with DDI standards. It covers two core components: the Catalog/Repository, which enables publishing, maintaining, and exploring metadata references via APIs, with support for R and Python packages, and the Metadata Editor, which facilitates metadata creation and publication. Administrative features include role management, translations, and data access controls, built on technologies like PHP, Apache/NGINX, and MySQL. Both tools are freely available on GitHub with Docker deployments and documentation, alongside a demo site at nada-demo.ihsn.org. The session concludes with links to prior EDDI talks on DDI metadata management.
