Description
Field Circuitry Numbered Syntax (FCNS v1.0)
Numbering and lineage specification for Juxels, Lexels, and Seqels.
Field Circuitry Numbered Syntax (FCNS) defines a consistent and durable identification system for artifacts within the Field Circuitry framework. It provides a standardized method to reference, track, version, and reconstruct artifact lineage over time.
FCNS specifies:
• fixed prefixes for artifact classes (JX, LX, SX)
• year-of-origin encoding (two-digit year, non-mutable)
• series identifiers for thematic grouping
• zero-padded index values to prevent collision
• explicit revision increment rules
• optional execution-mode suffix definitions
Intended outcomes:
• predictable parsing for engineers
• reliable reference and citation for researchers
• archival stability for librarians and curators
• clear navigation for readers and analysts
• recoverable history for future maintainers
Scope:
FCNS defines structure only. It does not assign value, hierarchy, authority, or interpretive meaning. It functions as a metadata and governance utility to reduce ambiguity, preserve continuity, and maintain structural integrity across versions.
This document specifies v1.0 of the Field Circuitry Numbered Syntax standard.
