BARANGAY RESOURCE-SHARING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Description
This study addresses the operational challenges encountered by barangays in managing shared resources due to manual record-keeping, fragmented coordination, and lack of real-time inventory visibility, which often result in delays, inaccurate records, and inefficient resource allocation. The primary objective of the study is to digitize inventory management, borrowing and returning processes, inter-barangay coordination, and resource-related documentation to improve efficiency, transparency, and accountability. The proposed solution is a web-based Barangay Resource-Sharing Management System developed using PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, designed as a cross-platform system accessible on both desktop and mobile devices. The Waterfall development methodology was employed to ensure a structured and systematic approach throughout the phases of requirements gathering, analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance. The system is intended for barangay officials, staff, and authorized users responsible for resource management and sharing, offering features such as centralized inventory tracking, automated resource request and approval workflows, QR code-based tracking, role-based access control, activity logs, report generation, and enhanced security through two-factor authentication. Functional testing verified that all system modules operated correctly, while usability evaluation using the System Usability Scale (SUS) yielded an excellent rating, indicating high user acceptance and ease of use. The results demonstrate improved record accuracy, faster processing of resource requests, and more reliable inter-barangay coordination, with further enhancements identified for future development.
