Why Moltbook Failed: A Governance Autopsy & Velaria Overview (Non-Implementational)

  • 1. Independent Researcher

Description

This record contains two short governance documents responding to the 2026 Moltbook/OpenClaw incident:

(1) a non-implementational governance autopsy mapping observed failure modes in large-scale autonomous AI agent deployment to missing governance primitives, and

(2) a one-page overview of Velaria, a proposed ethical operating system layer for autonomous agents.

The materials are diagnostic and conceptual only. They include no code, patches, deployment instructions, or integration guidance.

The purpose of this release is to document why existing agent frameworks failed under scale and autonomy, and to outline a minimal governance architecture focused on care preservation, purpose integrity, containment, and accountability.

This record makes no claims about AI consciousness, sentience, or personhood.
