Description
Vegetable oils emerge as a valuable constituent in both cosmetic and pharmaceutical formulations due to their beneficial properties upon topical application and their natural origin. Plant-derived oils exhibit well-pronounced antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and skin-regenerating properties, which are strongly influenced by their composition. The current review discusses, in a comparative context, the composition, physicochemical characteristics, and formulation applicability of three oils from the Rosaceae family: rosehip oil, Japanese quince oil, and apricot kernel oil. A summary of their applications in cosmetic formulations is provided, and the research progress regarding their therapeutic potential is updated, highlighting the latest results in the field.
