Optimized Nitric Oxide-Releasing Chitosan Nanoparticles: Chemometric Design for Biomedical Applications
Authors/Creators
Description
The work presented at the 34th Annual Conference of the European Society for Biomaterials (ESB 2025) in Turin, Italy, focused on the development and chemometric optimization of nitric oxide–releasing chitosan nanoparticles for biomedical applications. Multivariate statistical tools were employed to control nanoparticle physicochemical properties and achieve a sustained NO release profile. The optimized system exhibited enhanced stability, biocompatibility, and controlled NO delivery compared to free donors, highlighting its potential for applications in wound healing, dermatology, and antimicrobial therapies.
