SimpleMem: A Philosophy-Driven Memory System for AI Agents
Description
SimpleMem is a philosophy-driven memory system for AI agents, grounded in Nietzsche's active forgetting, Clark & Chalmers' Extended Mind Theory, Borges' library metaphor, and Unix simplicity. It replaces vector-based retrieval with human-readable Markdown files, using time decay and weight prioritization to manage memory. The system offers zero infrastructure cost, high explainability, and principled forgetting, making it ideal for long-term task tracking and personal assistant applications.
