First Report of Phoresy of the Genus Lophochernes Simon, 1878 (Pseudoscorpiones: Chernetidae) on the Cerambycid Beetle Batocera rufomaculata (De Geer, 1775)

Description

Pseudoscorpions are well known for their phoretic associations with various arthropods. In the present
study, a phoretic association of Lophochernes sp. (Pseudoscorpiones: Chernetidae) with the cerambycid beetle
Batocera rufomaculata (De Geer, 1775) is reported for the first time. This observation extends the known host
range of pseudoscorpion phoresy and highlights the need for further studies on their phoretic interactions with
other arthropod taxa.
