Description
The catalogue contains data on 1797 young stellar objects (YSOs) of classes I, II and III with protoplanetary discs, which are located in ten major star-forming regions: Orion Nebula Cluster (ONC), Orion A (including L1641 and L1647), Ophiuchus L1688, Lupus, Taurus-Auriga, Chamaeleon I, Corona Australis, Upper Scorpius, Serpens, and σ Orionis cluster. The information is compiled from ten major observational surveys published in refereed journals (see references below), with additional data from the VizieR astronomical database and SIMBAD name resolution service.
Column 1 indicates the name of the star, given in the original surveys or standard astronomical nomenclature (SIMBAD names). Column 2 shows the mass of the central star in solar masses. Column 3 indicates the spectral class of the star (where available; 0 indicates unknown or unavailable). Columns 4, 5, and 6 give the total gas mass of the protoplanetary disc in Earth masses and its lower and upper uncertainties. Columns 7, 8, and 9 show the total dust mass of the disc in Earth masses and corresponding uncertainties. Column 10 indicates the characteristic disc temperature in Kelvin, typically representative of the outer disc regions. Column 11 shows the characteristic disc radius in astronomical units. Column 12 gives the distance to the system in parsecs. Column 13 presents the logarithm of the accretion rate onto the star (log dM*/dt) in solar masses per year. Column 14 indicates the star-forming region to which the object belongs.
The compilation methodology follows: For objects with directly measured gas masses (typically from CO isotopologue observations), these values are used directly. For objects without direct gas mass measurements, gas masses are estimated from dust masses assuming a standard gas-to-dust ratio of 100. Stellar masses are taken from the original surveys where available; for objects without direct mass measurements, a typical value of 0.75 M⊙ is assumed for statistical analysis. Disc radii of 0 indicate unresolved sources or objects without direct size measurements, for which a characteristic radius of 100 AU is assumed in stability calculations. Similarly, a standard disc temperature of 20 K is assumed for objects without direct temperature measurements.
The catalogue enables gravitational stability analysis through calculation of the Toomre Q parameter for each system. Systems are classified as gravitationally unstable (Q < 1), marginally stable (1 ≤ Q ≤ 2), or stable (Q > 2) based on their disc and stellar properties. The compilation specifically supports statistical studies of disc mass distributions and gravitational instability prevalence across different star-forming environments.
