Digital Marketing and E Commerce in Myanmar: A Comprehensive Review
Authors/Creators
Description
Since Myanmar opened up its telecom sector in 2013, digital marketing and e-commerce have exploded. Cheap smartphones, easy internet access, and a young, social media-savvy population all pushed things forward. These changes have shaken up how people shop and how businesses sell. But it’s not all smooth sailing. Political turmoil, patchy infrastructure, and a real lack of trust in online payments keep holding things back. This review pulls together the latest research, market reports, and industry insights to lay out where digital marketing and e-commerce stand in Myanmar today, zeroing in on what makes people trust—or not trust—online shopping. To put things in perspective, I’ll also compare Myanmar’s path with what’s happening next door in Thailand and Vietnam, drawing out some lessons Myanmar can use.
