Description
Using FIA plots, NAIP imagery, Sentinel-2 satellite imagery, and USGS LiDAR, we developed an enhanced forest inventory over 270,000 acres of the Eldorado National Forest, in the Sierra Nevada mountains in California USA. The inventory is area-based: the entire project area is covered in polygons whose size is 0.5 acre on average. It contains predicted forest attributes for each polygon. The data is made available as a geopackage. The included attributes are:
- Unique identifier (sptl_poly_puid)
- Basal area (pred_bapa)
- Average height (pred_ht)
- Stem density (pred_tpa)
- Average diameter at breast height (pred_dia)
- Basal area for softwood (pred_bapa_softwood)
- Above ground carbon density (pred_cagpa)
- Basal area for snags (pred_bapa_snag)
- Canopy cover (pred_cnpcvr_pct)
