Integrated Circuits design using open-source EDA tools and OpenPDKs

This talk presents IHP’s efforts to enable integrated circuit design using open-source EDA tools and process design kits (PDKs) in advanced SiGe BiCMOS and CMOS technologies. It introduces the SG13G2 open PDK, compares major open PDKs (SKY130, SG13G2, GF180), and outlines analog/RF and digital design flows leveraging community tools and standardized libraries. The presentation highlights low-cost paths to silicon through multi-project wafer services, open test structures, and European cloud-based design platforms, and invites participation via internships and collaborative open-source projects to strengthen the silicon design ecosystem.
