Description

In this investigation water quality index (WQI) has been developed using eight water factor attributes pH (HPH), dissolved oxygen (HDO), total dissolved solids (HTDS), turbidity (HTD), total hardness (HTH), total alkalinity (HA), chlorides (HCL) and nitrates (HN) collected from Hosahalli Tank at the date of 15th of each month in the year 2021. Weighted arithmetic water quality index method is developed to find WQI of Hosahalli tank water whether its water quality is suitable for drinking purposes or not. After analysis it is confirmed that the water quality of Hosahalli tank water is not suitable for drinking purposes because the WQI of this tank water is crossed the prescribed limit. The prime reason for water pollution is due to the high human exercises, felonious release of garbage and paucity of enough cleanliness.
