This article focuses on translating cultural wisdom, offering a general reflection on English proverbs within the Uzbek context. It explores the linguistic and cultural challenges involved in rendering English proverbs into Uzbek, emphasizing their role as carriers of cultural memory and national worldview. The study examines how universal human values expressed in English proverbs are preserved, adapted, or transformed in Uzbek translations, while also highlighting differences arising from distinct cultural, historical, and value systems. The analysis demonstrates that successful translation of proverbs requires not only linguistic equivalence but also deep cultural awareness to convey the intended wisdom accurately within the Uzbek cultural context.
