Analytical tables for a scoping review on the social impact of scientific institutions
Description
This dataset contains the analytical tables supporting the scoping review presented in the article “Assessing the social impact of scientific institutions: a scoping review of concepts, indicators, and legitimation mechanisms”.
The dataset includes three tables synthesising the evidence extracted from the studies selected for the review (2019–2025).
Table 1 provides the main descriptive characteristics of the included studies.
Table 2 systematises the objectives, methodologies, and key findings of each study.
Table 3 analyses the channels through which social impact is articulated, together with the main limitations and implications identified in the literature.
The tables were developed through a systematic and transparent analytical process, following PRISMA-SCR guidelines, and are intended to enhance the reproducibility, transparency, and reusability of the review. They may be of interest to researchers, evaluators, and policy-makers working on research evaluation, social impact assessment, and science policy.
