Gene Ontology Curators AI Workshop (Part 1)
Description
Goals:
Equip curators with general purpose AI skills and literacy, usable in a variety of different contexts, and to unblock paths to continued exploration.
By the end of training curators will be able to

Craft effective prompts for common curation tasks

Evaluate AI outputs for accuracy and hallucinations

Use AI for literature review and term selection

Leverage search capabilities for preliminary research

Understand when to use vs. avoid AI assistance

Use the demonstrator Noctua connector for GO-CAM review and creation
Crucially, curators will be equipped to integrate AI into everyday workflows, using judgment as to where and when it makes sense.
Pre-requisites:
Understanding multiple aspects of GO curation process (ontology, standard, GO-CAMs). Familiarity with how to navigate and submit GitHub issues. No technical skills required.
Participants should register for an account on claude.ai, but note that no subscription is necessary.
