Infiltration data of two-stage multi-height Beerkan runs collected at Bari (Italy)
Authors/Creators
Description
The dataset contains infiltration data collected through two-stage multi-height beerkan (MHB) infiltration experiments at the experimental field of the Council for Agricultural Research and Economics, Research Center for Agriculture and Environment (CREA–AA), Bari, Italy (lat 41.11036389; lon 16.8778111)
This dataset supports the analyses presented in:
Castellini M., Autovino D., Bagarello V., Flammini A., Iovino M., Morbidelli R. Effects on infiltration of different wetting methods: an investigation through two-stage Beerkan runs in a conventionally tilled and a no-tilled soil, submitted to Catena, Elsevier.
Dataset_ReadMe
The MHB experiments were realized with three heights of water pouring (low, L ≈ 0.03 m; intermediate, M = 1.0 m; high, H = 2.0 m) to evaluate wetting alone (L) and wetting plus water impact (M and H) effects on infiltration rate, ir.
Two-stage MHB runs without interruption (LL, ML and HL) were performed on a conventionally tilled (CT) and a no-tilled (NT) loam soil. In each stage a fixed number of water volume (15), each of 200 mL, was poured on the confined infiltration surface (single ring, 15 cm diameter), for a total of 30 water volumes applied in each run. Each water volume corresponds to 11.3 mm of water infiltrated.
