Authors/Creators
Description
This dataset contains anonymized survey responses collected from PhD students regarding their experiences with literature review writing and their attitudes toward the ethical use of artificial intelligence (AI) in academic work.
Data were collected in February 2025 using an online questionnaire administered via Google Forms in an asynchronous format. The survey comprised 26 items, including multiple-choice questions and Likert-scale statements (from “strongly disagree” to “strongly agree”), as well as one open-ended question. The questionnaire covered three thematic areas: (1) PhD students’ profiles, (2) experiences and attitudes related to writing literature reviews, and (3) perceptions and practices concerning the ethical use of AI in academic research.
The dataset includes responses from 41 voluntary participants enrolled in PhD programs at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.” All data are fully anonymized, and no personally identifiable information is included.
Internal consistency reliability of the questionnaire was assessed using Cronbach’s Alpha (α = 0.7175), indicating acceptable reliability for exploratory research. The dataset is intended to support transparency, reproducibility, and secondary analyses related to doctoral education, academic writing practices, and AI use in higher education.
