Authors/Creators
Description
This May 1985 issue of the International Newsletter on Physics Education highlights the theme of using the history of physics in innovatory teaching, following the Pavia Conference. It reviews plenary papers and workshops exploring how historical, philosophical, and sociological perspectives can enrich physics education and foster student engagement. The issue also reports on the CERN Conference on teaching modern physics, the IUPAP General Assembly in Trieste, and resolutions emphasizing the integration of research and education. Additional sections cover ICPE’s 25th anniversary plans, upcoming international conferences, and the announcement of the Niels Bohr Centenary Volume. Practical ideas for classroom innovation are discussed throughout.
