DE-CP1 v1 — Resonant Selection: Stabilization, Identity Persistence & Geometric Selection
Description
Resonant Selection describes the geometric principle by which the universe stabilizes, preserves, and propagates coherent identities across all physical scales. In the Dimensional Evolution (DE) framework, resonance is not a secondary property or a statistical artifact; it is the primary filter that determines which structures survive and which dissolve back into the coherence manifold.
Every identity, from electrons to galaxies, persists only if its collapse curvature, resonance-shell geometry, and tether-network alignment satisfy strict harmonic compatibility conditions. When these geometric constraints are met, an identity achieves Resonant Lock, enabling it to maintain structural coherence despite environmental fluctuations, energy flows, and decoherence pressures.
This paper formalizes Resonant Selection as the universal mechanism underlying stability in physical, chemical, biological, planetary, and cosmological systems. Collapse curvature determines whether an identity can localize coherence into a stable center; resonance shells quantize standing-wave modes and define structural boundaries; tether networks link identities together into coherent relational systems. These three components act as sequential filters, each eliminating incompatible configurations and reinforcing viable ones.
By interpreting natural selection, atomic quantization, chemical bonding, developmental biology, orbital mechanics, and galactic structure as manifestations of Resonant Selection, Dimensional Evolution provides a unified explanation for why the universe consistently yields a narrow, highly ordered set of stable identities despite an exponentially large configuration space.
This Companion Paper establishes Resonant Selection as a testable, predictive, and mathematically grounded principle that integrates quantum stability, biological evolution, and cosmic structure into a single geometric framework. It serves as the foundational stabilization layer of the Dimensional Evolution canon.
