MESA and GYRE Scripts for Tides in Massive Binaries: Numerical Solutions and Semi-Analytical Comparisons

The file contains MESA and GYRE scripts used to compute tidal secular evolution timescales for massive binaries. The scripts are associated with the manuscript “Tides in Massive Binaries: Numerical Solutions and Semi-Analytical Comparisons”.

We provide worked examples for two stellar models:

* a 5 Msun main-sequence star;

* an 8.8 Msun main-sequence star.

For each case, the directory includes:

original MESA inlists used to generate the stellar structure models (MESA version 24.08.1 with MESASDK 24.7.1 on macOS);

corresponding GYRE (version 8.0) inlists used for tidal response calculations.
