The dataset supports research investigating behavioral and perceptual factors influencing
Indonesians’ intention to seek medical treatment abroad, integrating the Theory of Planned
Behavior (TPB) and the Push–Pull framework. The data were collected from 163 respondents
in Jabodetabek and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS).

Abstract (English)
Medical tourism (MT) among Indonesians remains high, leading to considerable economic losses despite significant improvements in domestic healthcare facilities. This study’s objective is to analyze the factor influencing Indonesians’ intention to seek medical treatment abroad by integrating the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and Push-Pull factors. Using a quantitative approach and SEM-PLS to analyze the data from 163 respondents in Jabodetabek who expressed an intention to undergo treatment abroad. The results show that attractiveness affects behavioral intention to do MT. However, trust as mediator, TPB predictors, and push factors do not show significant effects. The findings emphasize that perception and service attractiveness are key drivers of MT behavior. This findings provide insight for policymakers on health policy and healthcare providers to strengthen public confidence and promote domestic healthcare utilization, which gives an insight to the national health system and domestic economic growth. Future research should involve broader demographics and mixed methods for deeper analysis.
