FMY - Future Meteorological Year Files for Europe (2050, 2080)

Description

This dataset includes FMY files for the 5000 largest cities and towns in the EU, based on TMY files produced with CERRA data from 1986-2005 using a TMY3 methodology. The TMY baseline files are then morphed into the future using the FutureWeatherGenerator (Rodrigues, E., Fernandes, M.S., Carvalho, D., 2023. Future weather generator for building performance research: An open-source morphing tool and an application. Building and Environment 233, 110104. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.buildenv.2023.110104)

The files represents a statistically typical year in the future meant for energy calculations of buildings, and are therefore not suited for evaluating extreme conditions.

The repository contains zipped files, one per country, that again contain:

  • EPW-files - The most common file format for climate data for energy simulations applicable to most programs
  • Stat-files - An accompanying format containing weather statistics, used in Energyplus
  • Datasheets - a datasheet containing a comparison of FMYs with the FMYs, across scenarioes.
