The AIVO Control Definition: AI Mediated Representation & Visibility Risk

This document defines the AIVO Control for identifying, assessing, and governing AI‑mediated representation and visibility risk. The control addresses the risk that AI systems generate, amplify, or propagate materially false, misleading, or unsubstantiated representations of organizations or individuals, where such representations may influence decisions, reputation, compliance, or financial outcomes.

The AIVO Control is a governance and risk identification framework. It is intentionally non‑prescriptive, non‑certifying, and tool‑agnostic. It is designed for use by Chief Risk Officers, Internal Audit functions, governance professionals, and regulators as an emerging control concept within enterprise risk management.
