Description

The This study aims to analyze the authority of the Regional Government in empowering small-scale fishermen in Bandengan Village, Kendal Regency, based on Law Number 7 of 2016 concerning the Protection and Empowerment of Fishermen, Fish Farmers, and Salt Farmers. The research uses an empirical juridical approach with data collected through literature studies and interviews. The results show that the Regional Government plays an important role in providing fisheries infrastructure, facilitating access to capital, and conducting capacity-building training for fishermen. However, implementation remains constrained by limited budgets, weak inter-agency coordination, and fishermen’s low access to financing. Strengthened synergy among stakeholders is needed to achieve sustainable empowerment of small-scale fishermen.
