Correlation Between the Long Service, Short Service, and Smash with The Differentiated Learning for Seventh Grade Students of SMP Negeri 2 Ngemplak

The problem in this research is the low level of basic badminton technical skills (especially long serves, short serves, and smashes) among seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Ngemplak (Ngemplak 2 Junior High School). This condition is assumed to be caused by usual learning that has not fully implemented the principle of differentiated learning according to the needs of each student. The objective of this research is to determine the correlation between (1) long serves and differentiated learning, (2) short serves and differentiated learning, (3) smashes and differentiated learning, (4) long serves, short serves, and smashes towards the differentiated learning. This research was a correlational study. The research sample was 96 seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Ngemplak. The sampling technique used a purposive sampling technique with conditional sampling, such as: (1) Distribution of Instructors, (2) Rotation of learning locations and materials, (3) Seventh-grade students participating in badminton learning, (4) Physical health, and (5) Willingness to be respondents. The research instrument used a test method. The data analysis technique used Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis. Based on the research findings, it reveals that (1) there is a significant correlation between long serve ability and differentiated learning in seventh-grade students of SMP N 2 Ngemplak, with a calculated r of 0.328, significant 0.004 < 0.05. (2) There is a significant correlation between short serve ability and differentiated learning in seventh-grade students of SMP N 2 Ngemplak, with a calculated r of 0.330, significant 0.001 < 0.05. (3) There is a significant correlation between smash ability and differentiated learning in seventh-grade students of SMP N 2 Ngemplak, with a calculated r of 0.317, significant 0.004 < 0.05.
