Cosmicloid: Retention of Orientation in Interstellar Dust Structures
Authors/Creators
Description
This work introduces the concept of the cosmicloid as a minimal material ensemble capable of retaining orientational distinction under ψ-retention. While standard astrophysical models explain the generation of dust alignment through magnetic coupling, radiative torques, or turbulence, they do not specify a minimal criterion for the persistence of orientation once energetic support declines.
ψ-retention is presented as a non-dynamical structural condition governing the survival of orientational difference in low-density, weak-coupling environments. Under this framework, interstellar and intergalactic dust behaves as a retentional ensemble, exhibiting orientation memory beyond conventional dynamical thresholds.
The article provides observational motivation, conceptual analysis, and testable implications for polarization stability, alignment statistics, and large-scale coherence in dust structures.
