ESIIL Short Course 2025
Authors/Creators
Description
The Environmental Data Science Innovation & Impact Lab (ESIIL) Education Program, funded by NSF, is an annual program that builds environmental data science skills and trains the next generation of data-capable workers. The ESIIL Education Program consists of the ESIIL Stars Program and ESIIL Data Short Course, the latter is the focus of this evaluation report. The ESIIL Data Short Course teaches environmental data science (EDS) beginners from all career stages, a suite of in-demand core data and analytics skills while building EDS career awareness. The Short Course adapts the Earth Data Analytics - Foundations Professional Certificate Earth Analytics Data Science Bootcamp course at CU Boulder and is offered each year. It is available for anyone to participate but is designed for faculty who teach courses that could incorporate environmental data science.
