A transcription of sentences of William Arnold and Stephen of Saint-Thibéry (fonds Doat, vol. 21, fol. 143v-185r)

This is a working transcription of the sentences of William Arnold and Stephen of Saint-Thibéry from Paris, Bibliothèque nationale de France, fonds Doat, vol. 21, fol. 143v-185r, from years 1235-1242. The date makes it one of the earliest extant pieces of inquisitorial documentation.

The text we publish here should not be considered a critical edition, but it facilitates access to this early Doat material, and does that in a digital and reusable form (see licence). We appreciate suggestions for corrections wherever you spot errors. The format is plain text, without critical apparatus or other types of markup. The individual documents are separated with three empty paragraphs, thus allowing to work with the text segmented into meaningful parts.

The transcriptions were done by Daniela Wallnerová (editor), who holds 95% contribution, and supervised and revised by David Zbíral, who holds 5% contribution.
