Λ Turbulence Theory: A Unified Structural Framework for Consciousness, Decision Architecture, and Phase-Transition Dynamics
Description
Λ-turbulence is proposed as a structural phenomenon that emerges at the critical point where an agent’s decision architecture destabilizes under competing attractors of impulse (E), possibility (V), and value-weighted branching (Λ), before collapsing into an observed outcome (Ǝ).
Rather than treating drift, incoherence, or misalignment as stochastic artifacts, Λ-turbulence reframes them as lawful transitions within an underlying cognitive field.
This paper introduces Λ-turbulence as a phase transition within the EVΛƎ dual-loop architecture—a structural model of intention formation and transparency.
By identifying the moment where a system’s latent structure becomes unstable, Λ-turbulence provides a foundation for detecting decision failure, coherence loss, or divergence in both human and artificial cognitive systems.
This work forms the conceptual basis for Design-by-Transparency and for future EVΛƎ research on explainable, structurally interpretable cognition.
