Type species: Coccinella thoracica Fabricius, 1801; by subsequent designation of Korschefsky (1931).

Distribution by States in the Northeast Region of Brazil. Maranhão; Ceará; Rio Grande do Norte; Pernambuco; Bahia; Alagoas.

Comments. Diomus is by far the most diverse genus in Brazil, with 130 species in total and fourteen of them occurring in NE Brazil (Gordon 1999; Ramos et al. 2020).
