Relativity Without Paradox: Auditing Physics Language by the Universal Principle of Collapse

Relativity’s mathematics is exact, but its language often collapses into metaphors that distort understanding. Phrases like “time slows down,” “spacetime bends,” and “astronauts age slower” reify time as a substance and obscure the bounded nature of interval recognition (Einstein, 1905; Einstein, 1916; Taylor & Wheeler, 1992). This paper applies the Universal Principle of Collapse (UPC) axiom (Escagedo Gutierrez, 2025a–c) to audit relativity’s language. The UPC biconditional asserts that collapse occurs if and only if recognition occurs, with a unique operator irreducible to substitution. Applied here, it disciplines narration: clocks tick normally, geometry encodes curvature, and recognition reveals bounded offsets. Using an audit template—axiom anchor → equation → corollary → violation check → UPC correction → summary—each derivation shows how metaphors collapse into paradox when taken literally, and how UPC reframing restores coherence. The audit does not challenge Einstein’s mathematics or propose new laws; it interrogates accuracy at the conceptual stage, where metaphors act as shortcuts. Contributions include: (1) auditing physicists’ language against technical precision, (2) showing consequences of metaphor error in education and culture, and (3) reframing relativity into disciplined recognition of intervals reconciled by mathematics. The result is portable clarity: mathematics coherent, recognition irreducible, paradox linguistic. This is the first systematic application of UPC to relativity’s language.
