Myllocerus spurcatus Walker 1859a: 263. [Type locality: Ceylon; Type in the British Museum].

Sri Lankan records. Walker (1859a: 263); Motschulsky (1863: 525); Heller (1901: 338 —Anuradhapura, Haputala, Nalanda); Marshall (1916: 346 —Dikoya, Bogawantalawa, Balangoda, Anuradhapura, Haputala, Nalanda); Voss (1957: 102 —Peradeniya, Kandy); Ramamurthy & Ghai (1988: 456).

Distribution. Sri Lanka, India, Myanmar.

Biological notes. Cotton, jute, groundnut, bringal, potato, apple, plums, ramie fibre, hollyhock; attracted to light (Ramamurthy & Ghai, 1988).
