CRISTALL Project: Zero-Waste Technology for Processing Mining Tailings into Artificial Silicate Rocks
Authors/Creators
Description
CRISTALL Project presents an innovative zero-waste technology for processing mining tailings into high-quality artificial stone materials (granite, basalt, diabase, jasper and others).
The method is based on controlled melting and crystallization of silicate-rich industrial waste, resulting in durable construction materials that meet geological and engineering standards.
The project demonstrates:
• transformation of tailings into valuable stone analogues;
• elimination of waste storage and environmental impact;
• production of materials suitable for construction, architecture, hydraulic engineering, and industrial applications;
• potential recovery of metal components during processing.
This document provides a concise overview of the CRISTALL technology, its principles, benefits, and potential industrial scalability.
