Photoluminescence properties of BaCa2Al8O15 :Eu2+ , X(X= HO3+and Y3+ ) phosphor for solid state lighting

Description
Blue emitting BaCa2Al8O15 :Eu2+ ,X ( Ho3+ and Y3+) by combustion synthesis method .The phosphor powers were further investigated by XRD and photoluminescence properties using fluorescence spectroscopy. The photoluminescence result indicate that both BaCa2Al8O15 :Eu2+ ,X ( Ho3+ and Y3+) phosphor can be excited by near ultraviolet light and a strong broad band blue emission centered at 435 nm corrosponding to the 4f65d1 to 4f6 transition of Eu2+ ions. The obtained results suggested that present phosphor have the possible applications in Hg free excited solid state lighting.
