Canadian PID Strategy: Engagement Toolkit - Impact and Value of PIDs

This document demonstrates the impact and value of PIDs by summarizing the major problems they can help solve as highlighted by the Canadian research community. These included excessive administrative burden on researchers; the need for PIDs in implementing the FAIR data principles; frustration with evaluation (whether for competitive grants or for promotion and tenure); and the challenges of analyzing Canadian research activity.
