Cochinorchestia Lowry & Peart, 2010: 21.

Type species. Parorchestia notabilis Barnard, 1935.

Included species. C. lindsayae Lowry & Springthorpe, 2015; C. metcalfeae Lowry & Springthorpe, 2015; C. morini (Asari, 1998); C. morrumbene Lowry & Springthorpe, 2015; C. notabilis (Barnard, 1935); C. poka Lowry & Springthorpe, 2015; C. tulear Lowry & Springthorpe, 2015.

Remarks. Cochinorchestia Lowry & Peart differs from Microrchestia Bousfield in having oostegite setae with simple tips (Fig. 3), uropod 1 exopodite with marginal robust setae and a maxilliped palp article 2 with a medial lobe.
