Description
Extract from NorESM2 github code repository, corresponding to model version used for CMIP6 simulations, and consistent with description and simulations as described in Seland et al. [2020, GMD] ( https://doi.org/10.5194/gmd-2019-378) and Tjiputra et al. [2020, GMD] (https://doi.org/10.5194/gmd-2019-347).
Compared to the former upload (version 2.0.2) this upload contains (incomplete list) : (1) additional experimental setups used in CMIP6 (SSP5-3.4 and CO2 emission-driven SSP compsets); (2) extended model documentation; (3) modifications to run on different HPCs, better queue management, modifications in archiving scripts, automatic copying of case-directory; (4) correction in CCN and COSP diagnostics, and automatic download of aerosol AeroTab files; (5) code cleanup with removal of unused files; (6) modifications in the BLOM/iHAMOCC source code structure; and (7) additional capabilities in BLOM (support for tripolar 1/8 degree grid, possibility for hybrid vertical coordinates).
The code is also available via the github repository https://github.com/NorESMhub/NorESM in the noresm2 branch. The upload here is based on the tag release-noresm2.0.9.
Post-publication notes will be kept at https://github.com/NorESMhub/NorESM (information on intermeidate releases can be found at https://github.com/NorESMhub/NorESM/releases).
