28-Genre Cinematic Map (Cinematic Taxonomy of Alireza Kaveh)

Authors/Creators

Description

This upload presents the 28-Genre Cinematic Map, a visual dataset developed as part of the Cinematic Taxonomy formulated by filmmaker and theorist Alireza Kaveh.
The taxonomy distinguishes five foundational cinematic categories—medium, style, genre, format, and tradition—and identifies twenty-eight major genres within the genre domain.

The diagram offers a conceptual overview of the spatial and theoretical relationships among these genres, highlighting proximity zones, hybrid pathways, and structural intersections.
It is designed as a navigational and analytical tool for researchers, students, and creators working in film studies, genre theory, media analysis, and creative practice.

Page 1 provides an introductory explanation of the framework, and page 2 contains the full-resolution cinematic map.
This PDF serves as the official DOI-registered reference version of the map and may be cited in academic, educational, or creative contexts.
