  • 1. EDMO icon Stanford University

Description

Web-based environments allow for iterative design and implementation of educational, interactive ear training for music learners. This work introduces Glitch Garden, a web-based approach that introduces and offers practice for users to strengthen their audio effects and computer music knowledge. Glitch Garden’s focus is to teach specific, simple audio effects through an accessible and approachable user interface. It is available to the public as an open source project and designed to be componentized and modularized, making it simple to extend. We describe how the application is designed and implemented with various web technologies, including the Web Audio API and the Vue JavaScript framework. We are working towards developing this tool to support accessible learning of technical ear training for music.
