АРХІТЕКТУРА, ЕВОЛЮЦІЯ ТА ЗАСТОСУВАННЯ ПАСИВНИХ ОПТИЧНИХ МЕРЕЖ (PON)

  • 1. Berdyansk State Pedagogical University

Description

The architecture and operating principles of Passive Optical Networks (PON) were investigated. Key stages of standards evolution from GPON to the latest NG-PON2 and 50G-PON were systematized, highlighting their technological differences and advantages. A comparative analysis of PON with alternative wired access technologies was conducted. Current and prospective application areas for PON were identified, particularly in the context of FTTH network deployment and 5G infrastructure support, justifying their role in meeting the growing demands for communication network bandwidth.
