A COMPREHENSIVE LINGUISTIC STUDY OF THE NOUN IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK

Description

This article presents a detailed comparative linguistic analysis of the noun category in English and Uzbek. It examines fundamental morphological, semantic, and syntactic features, including number, case, definiteness, gender, possession, derivation, and nominal classification. English, being an analytical language, expresses grammatical relations primarily through function words and fixed word order, whereas Uzbek relies on rich agglutinative morphology with case markers and possessive suffixes. The study also analyzes noun phrase structure, determiners, modifier order, and the typological differences that influence translation, language teaching, and second-language acquisition. The investigation identifies both structural divergences and functional parallels between the two languages.
