SIMILARITIES BETWEEN UZBEK FOLK IDIOMS AND ENGLISH IDIOMS

Abstract. This article explores the similarities between Uzbek folk idioms and English idioms. Idioms are fixed expressions that convey meaning, enrich sentences, and make language more vivid and understandable. Both Uzbek and English idioms reflect the customs, traditions, and culture of their people. They use metaphors and imagery to express emotions, human behavior, and universal experiences. By comparing idioms from different cultures, language learners can improve their vocabulary, understand cultural values, and communicate more effectively. This study highlights the role of idioms as a bridge between language and culture.
